Research Interests

Hi I am Yanen Li, a Ph.D. student in the Text Information Management group, department of Computer Science at University of Illinois. My advisor is Professor ChengXiang Zhai. My research interests include text information retrieval, machine learning, cloud computing and bioinformatics.

[Jun 2011] Our team ( Yanen Li and Huizhong Duan, advised by Prof. ChengXiang Zhai) has won the second place in the Microsoft Speller Challenge! Our system, CloudSpeller, uses a hidden Markov model combined with a large lexicon constructed based on Wikipedia and Microsoft n-gram Web service. You can read more about our work on this paper. Our system can be reached at www.cloudspeller.com
